[Purpose/significance] Sort out the contents of digital humanities projects in 29 universities in the U.S., master the hot topics and characteristics of the projects, and provide references for domestic universities to carry out digital humanities projects. [Method/process] This article uses Word2Vec and K-means method to cluster the themes of 957 projects, and analyzes projects on the four themes of digital history and archives, digital culture and art, digital ecology and environment, and digital geography and architecture. The features of the projects are extracted from four aspects: interdisciplinary practical applicability, industry-university-research integration, deep semantics, and provide constructive suggestions for digital humanities projects in domestic universities.[Result/conclusion] The study found that digital humanities projects in American universities have rich themes and strong practicality, and multidisciplinary experts cooperate to promote the project development, which has reference significance for domestic universities to carry out digital humanities projects.
