Abstract

In this study, the authors acquired foreign journal articles on health information and health anxiety, to analyze the influence of online health information and user behavior on health anxiety. The results showed that information source, information overload, conflicting information, information narrowing and misinformation are the crucial factors which impact the health anxiety. But such influence is different in the self-diagnosis and visiting the doctor. The authors suggest that it is necessary to make full use of the characteristics of health information and the advantages of health communication to promote the appropriate use of online information with the technical and humanity means.
