Abstract

[Purpose/significance] Prevention-centered health philosophy has become the main theme of the Healthy China Strategy, and the self-tracking technology based on the Internet has great potential to improve the health of citizens. [Method/process] Based on the lived informatics model, this paper combined questionnaire surveys and interviews to investigate the practice of users' health information management in the four stages of decision, selection, tracking, and invalidation in non- medical situations. Meanwhile, this paper explored demand and patterns of personal health information management. [Result/conclusion] This article argues that users should improve their personal health information literacy level, cultivate the habit of participating in health activities and fully enjoy the entertainment and sociality of personal health information management. Several functional and non-functional optimizations for self-tracking technology strategy are also proposed. The findings contribute to improve the design of sports health apps and guide individuals to carry out health information management activities in their lives.
