[Purpose/significance] It is a scientific problem to construct the evaluation system for philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics, which needs to use scientific research methods and appropriate path to study. Various research methods such as conceptual analysis, case analysis, comparative analysis, abstract thinking, information, and system methods should be adopted, and so on to construct the evaluation system of philosophy and social sciences with Chinese characteristics along the path of clarifying the problems, investigating the current situation, proposing the system framework, demonstrating and testing, and promoting the application.[Method/process] The essential characteristics of "Chinese characteristics" are orientation, nationality, originality and academic rationality, which are not diametrically opposed to "internationality" but should complement each other. The academic "full evaluation" system constructed 11 years ago is composed of six elements, three dimensions, and eight inferences. It is guided by the value theory of historical materialism and emphasizes the uniqueness of academic publicity community and practice, and history in value judgments. Status can reasonably explain the existing problems and their causes in the current evaluation, and scientifically propose solutions. [Result/conclusion] The research process, results and impact of this system are a systematic exploration of the construction of a philosophy and social science evaluation system with Chinese characteristics. It provides valuable experience in research methods and paths, and is worthy of further promotion and application and continuous improvement.
