Abstract

[Purpose/significance] The purpose of this paper is to systematically review the literature of TBII overseas, and propose an integrated research framework of TBII. This research can provide a theoretical foundation for the further study of TBII. [Method/process] Based on the method of literature research, this paper summarizes the status and prog? ress of task- based information interaction abroad. [Result/conclusion] Researchers have focused TBII from four as? pects: the basic conception of TBII, the division of TBII stages, the influential factors of TBII sub-activities, and the in? fluential factors of the completion of TBII activities. An integrated framework was constructed by the above four aspects according to a certain logical relationship. The functions of the framework are as follows: first, this integrated framework reveals the interaction among the various TBII activity stages; second, it recognizes the relationship among users, tasks, TBII activity stages, information systems, and task outputs, outcomes, and performance; third, four basic research paths of TBII research are proposed.
