[Purpose/significance] The purpose of this paper is to compare the research hotspots in the field of library,
information and archives management at home and abroad, and to explore the relationship between academic hotspots
and development of the discipline.[Method/process] The paper employs the quantitative method to investigate the academic hotspots of library, information and archives management at home and abroad reflected by CSSCI and SSCI from
2019 to 2021, and compares them with the“Top Ten Academic Hotspots in China’s LIA Management”organized by
the Book and Newspaper Information Center of Renmin University of China,and explores the synergistic relationship be?
tween academic hotspots and disciplinary development.[Result/conclusion] The study reveals that domestic and for?
eign academics are commonly concerned about health information issues caused by the epidemic, user behavior in social media, bibliometrics, library management, and data governance. The academics and professionals in China pay
more attention to the connection between academic propositions and major national strategies. The academic hotspots
promote the process of discipline development, and the advances and achievements of discipline construction are also
reflected in the evolution of academic hotspots.
