Abstract

[Purpose/significance] Considering the situation of public health emergencies, this study explores the con? tent characteristics and the quality of public health emergency information disclosure on the government portals of Prov? ince J, H and Y. [Methods/process] The study adopts a multiple- case approach and content analysis. A coding scheme was developed to examine the content characteristics in terms of the breadth and depth of information disclo? sure, and the topics of information disclosure were also compared with the related laws and policies. In this way, the study evaluates the quality of public health emergencies related information disclosure. [Results/conclusion] The re? sults indicate that the information disclosure of public health emergencies focuses on general information, but ignores information for notification, service and publicity. Both of the breadth and depth of information disclosure content need to be promoted. Some types of information disclosure do not satisfy the requirements of related laws and policies. There? fore, the standardization of information disclosure is called for. The study provides insights for government information disclosure for public health emergencies and helps improve relevant laws and regulations, so as to improve the quality of information disclosure.
